Robert Barnett is an Alaskan IT professional working in the Cybersecurity industry serving Alutiiq & Iñupiat tribal organizations for nearly two decades. He earned his Master of Business Administration with a focus in Telecommunications Management from Alaska Pacific University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Additionally, he holds a variety of technical and administrative certifications including his Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Trainer, and 30 other distinct technical certifications.
He maintains a membership in several prominent IT organizations the community including the Alaska CIO Council, InfraGard, as well as the Alaskan chapters for International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) and Project Management Institute (PMI).
Rob is an advocate for improving the security and welfare of our country’s businesses and institutions as well as those of our tribal nations sharing information through these networking groups to build up our communities and improve their defenses. He currently serves on the MS-ISAC Tribal Community Strategy/Leadership Steering Group as well as the Mentorship program. He also volunteers with Cub Scout Pack 229 as the Webelos den leader and Boy Scout Troop 229 as the Advancement Chair.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing garage sale bingo, feeding wild birds off his deck by hand, and adding monsters into discarded paintings.
