Tony Sager

Tony is Senior VP & Chief Evangelist at the Center for Internet Security (CIS), leading strategic partnerships and outreach. He pioneered the CIS Critical Security Controls, a widely adopted cyber defense best practices program. Tony has also contributed to developing and scaling effective cyber practices globally.

He volunteers in various cyber community services, including as a member of the DHS/CISA Cyber Safety Review Board, advisor to the Minnesota Cyber Security Summit, and former member of the National Academy of Sciences Cyber Resilience Forum.

Tony retired from the NSA in 2012 after 34 years, where he led key cyber defense initiatives. He was inducted into the Cybersecurity Hall of Fame in 2023.
