CIS Benchmarks July 2022 Update
The following CIS Benchmarks have been updated or recently released. We've highlighted the major updates below. Each Benchmark includes a full changelog that references all changes.
Using CIS Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 Benchmarks?
For the CIS Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 Benchmarks, we recommend utilizing the latest version of the CIS Benchmark regardless of what specific build of Windows you have. To amplify this, as of October 2021, we no longer include the Windows build versions in the name of the CIS Benchmark. Within the overview section of the CIS Benchmark in CIS WorkBench, you will see the most recent Windows build version the CIS Benchmark covers, as referenced below. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact CIS Support.

CIS IBM CICS Transaction Server 6.1 Benchmark v1.0.0

CIS IBM Db2 13 for z/OS Benchmark v1.0.0

CIS Apple iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 Benchmark v1.1.0
With the update to Apple’s iOS and iPadOS platforms, we updated the CIS Benchmark to reflect those OSes. We did this by implementing the following changes:
- Added new recommendations focused on features added to iOS and iPadOS 15 since the launch
- Modified recommendations to reflect better security practices
- Released the iOS CIS Build Kit simultaneously with the CIS Benchmark release

CIS Oracle MySQL Enterprise Edition 8.0 Benchmark v1.2.0
A number of issues identified in the prior release have been incorporated into this release. These include the following:
- ACC passes CIS-CAT Schematron validation
- Added a recommendation to ensure MySQL is run in Jail or Chroot
- Revised recommendations under MySQL Permissions to be uniform in their titles and procedures
- Removed a couple of recommendations that are addressed in other recommendations
- Textual corrections

CIS Microsoft Windows 10 EMS Gateway Benchmark v1.1.0
Here is a glimpse of what we did to improve the value of this CIS Benchmark:
- Moved, added, and renamed several sections due to updated ADMX templates
- Added 19 new settings
- Updated five settings
- Moved six settings
- Renamed one setting

Updates to this Benchmark include the following:
- Support for the Kubernetes 1.23 Engine
- Updated recommendations for securing file
- Secure Container Recommendations
This Benchmark exemplifies the great things a community of users, vendors, and subject matter experts can accomplish through consensus collaboration.
