The Center for Internet Security Named Top Workplace in the Capital Region

CIS earned additional recognition for company values

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y., April 23, 2025 — A mission-driven purpose, healthy work-life balance, and commitment to lifelong learning, wellness, and investing in its employees have landed the Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS^®) the top spot among large employers in New York’s Capital Region by the Albany Times Union and Energage. The company has been named one of the area’s Top Workplaces for the last eleven years and has earned the number one spot for the second time.

For 2025, more than 1,300 local organizations of various sizes were considered. The results are based entirely on employee feedback on topics such as pay and benefits, leadership, meaningfulness, appreciation and more.

CIS employees reported feeling “heard and inspired” to share ideas and work collaboratively. Although operating as a fully remote organization, staffers can connect with each other through online activities including charcuterie board making, cooking classes and trivia contests, as well as in-person events like the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge, the Hackers softball team, and paid time off for volunteer opportunities.

CIS Chief Human Resources Officer Carolyn Comer says it’s important for organizations to know what’s on the minds of their employees and to pivot accordingly. “Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk,” Comer said. “Gather feedback and insights from your employees and act on it. Our leadership team does this on a continuous basis with the objective of creating a healthy, supportive environment where people are empowered to do their best work.”

CIS also received additional honors for its company values. According to one employee who responded to the anonymous survey, “Our commitment and accountability to our Leadership Principles as an organization and as individuals is second to none.”

The company is also named a 2025 Best Company to Work for in New York, Best Place to Work Remote and Hybrid, and certified as a Best Place to Work in the Technology Industry by the Best Companies Group. In addition, CIS has been named an Inclusive Workplace by Color Magazine.
