Arizona Third-Grader Named National Winner of the MS-ISAC Kids Safe Online Poster Contest
2021 MS-ISAC Calendar to Feature Artwork from 18 Students
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y., June 15, 2020 – The Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS®) and the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center® (MS-ISAC®) have named Arizona third-grader, Richelle, the national winner of the annual Kids Safe Online Poster Contest. The third-grader’s artwork will be featured on the cover of the MS-ISAC’s 2021 cybersecurity calendar. The MS-ISAC is grant-funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) https://www.cisa.gov/, and it is the focal point for cyber threat prevention, protection, response, and recovery for the nation’s state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments.
Seventeen other state winners from the contest will also be featured in the calendar, which will be released as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) in October 2020. Out of respect for the contestants’ safety, only a limited amount of information about the winners is released by CIS.
“The National Kids Safe Online Poster Contest inspires youth to use their imagination to educate their peers on how to stay safe online,” said Mike Aliperti, MS-ISAC Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement & MS-ISAC Chair. “Everyone who participated in this contest is a cybersecurity hero; their artwork educates others on safe web surfing and the responsible use of social media platforms.”

Contest Details
The National Kids Safe Online Poster Contest is open to K-12 students in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and U.S. military installations worldwide. Schools designate one teacher or administrator to select the entries that are submitted. Home-schooled students submit entries directly to the MS-ISAC each year.
Each year, U.S. State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) governments are invited to conduct a poster contest within their jurisdiction and submit a total of 15 entries per entity. Winners are selected to represent the 12 calendar months of the year and the cover. This year’s winning artwork will be featured in the MS-ISAC’s 2021 Kids Safe Online Poster Contest calendar.
