And The CIS 2023 President’s Award Goes To...

Natalie Fischer, Senior Program Manager of Training and Educational Services, is the recipient of the prestigious CIS President’s Award for 2023

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y., and WASHINGTON D.C., Jan. 9, 2024 – The Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS®) named Natalie Fischer the winner of the third annual CIS President’s Award for demonstrating outstanding job performance and leadership throughout 2023.

Established in 2021, the President’s Award recognizes one CIS staff member each year who exhibits exemplary leadership not only in their role but across the organization. The recipient must also have made outstanding contributions and shown a commitment to the CIS mission and 12 leadership principles, including actively engaging and enabling others to realize their full leadership potential.

Natalie Fischer started at CIS in 2019 and is currently the Senior Program Manager for Training and Educational Services. She says the most rewarding part of her role is bringing together a team of talented experts in support of the CIS mission and seeing months of collaboration come to life in the form of educational webinars or series for members.

“I was honored to sit alongside all female finalists this year and [was] truly surprised that my peers had deemed me worthy out of an exceptional pool of candidates,” Fischer said. “Winning the award and the achievements from the past year were only possible due to the full support by both my team and across CIS.”

But 2023 wasn’t easy. “This was also my first full year back as a new mom, which many will understand comes with a lot of new challenges and a lot less sleep,” Fischer added. Fischer lives in Troy, N.Y. with her husband and 20-month-old son. You can learn more about her, including what she’s most looking forward to in 2024.

In addition to the CIS President’s Award, CIS Director of Events Tiffany Bardwell and CIS Executive Assistant Samantha Slattery were named 2023 Star Performers for their contributions and dedication to the CIS Leadership Principles.
