26 July 2004 Given the mission of the Center for Internet Security, you have the right to expect that we are very sensitive to privacy issues on the Internet, and in particular, protecting your privacy when you access our website. We believe it is important that you know how we treat the information about you that we receive on the Internet. In general, you can visit our web site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. Our web servers collect the Internet addresses, not the e-mail addresses, of visitors. This information is occasionally tabulated to measure various statistics. Our website does not use cookies. We do ask for certain personal information, including name and email address from persons downloading CIS products. This information is not divulged to any third party and is used only for the purposes of: (1) communicating urgent product information fixes, (2) seeking advice and feedback about the Center's services, and (3) inviting participation in the Center's consensus process. We publish a list of organizations that are members of the Center on our website and, in the case of individual members, their name and organization, unless they request that their organizations name not be listed. Any member's request not to be listed is honored. All information about you or your organization that you send us by fax or mail is physically protected.
